Store Credit

Customer Exclusion

Exclude specific customer segments from earning or redeeming store credit.

Customer exclusion rules let you prevent specific groups of customers from participating in your store credit programme. This is useful for excluding wholesale accounts, staff, or customers on restricted plans.

Navigate to Loyalty → Settings → Customer Exclusion to manage exclusion rules.

Creating an exclusion rule

  1. Click Add rule.
  2. Choose the exclusion type:
    • Customer tag - excludes all customers with a specific Shopify customer tag.
    • Email domain - excludes all customers with a matching email domain (e.g. @yourbrand.com).
  3. Enter the tag or domain value.
  4. Select whether to exclude from earning, redeeming, or both.
  5. Click Save.

Effect on excluded customers

  • Excluded customers will not earn store credit on new orders.
  • Excluded customers will not be able to redeem store credit at checkout (if excluded from redeeming).
  • Existing store credit balances are not affected by exclusion rules.

Removing an exclusion rule

Delete the rule from the list. The customer segment will be eligible again for earning and redeeming from that point forward. Retroactive credits are not applied.
