Airdrops

One-time Store Credit sends to a customer segment.

An airdrop is a one-time Store Credit send to everyone in a Shopify customer segment. It is not the same as cashback, which pays Store Credit after each eligible purchase on an ongoing basis.

Use airdrops when you want a deliberate push: win-back, VIP gift, seasonal promo, second-order nudge. Use cashback when every order should earn credit automatically.

Settings that matter

  • Segment - who gets credit
  • Amount - how much each person gets
  • Available at - when credit becomes usable
  • Expiry - optional days until this airdrop credit expires

Expiry applies only to credit from that campaign, not to the customer’s existing balance.
